Oly Weary

Oly Weary has never been published until now. He’s a British-born, Spanish-residing writer who loves to create absurdist stories.

"Interrogation" manages to subvert the Absurdist genre. In the works of Camus, Kafka, Beckett or Ionesco there has always been a distinction between the absurd and the character. These were individuals confronted with the absurd of their circumstances, their reactions constituted the core of the story.

This is absurdism where the subject and the absurd has been completely defeated. Resistance isn’t futile, it’s simply incomprehensible.

Eduardo Garcia

Eduardo Garcia has been published twice in a local magazine, which is no longer in operation. He hails from Argentina and likes to write in his spare time.

In "Concerning the Vampire" a centenarian vampire writes a formal complaint to a county court judge claiming to be the victim of identity theft. It’s a delightful exploration of the 19th-century high-society fascination with all things occult and supernatural, when the lines between science and fantasy were still being drawn.

It speaks of agency, identity, celebrity culture, and an immigrant’s persistent anxiety that there are invisible networks of belonging he’ll never access, no matter how qualified he becomes. An anxiety often misdirected toward other immigrants, by immigrants.
